So. I logged on today, and was taking to Sand. It got me thinking, and some of the issues I saw in the guild have gotten worse. Look, I understand you guys want to get to 20. I know playing highbies is fun, but I honestly think a lot of newer members(and members with no high lvls) have been getting on less and less. Personally I'm sick of the whole screw the lowbies, go highbies mindset. This is what was going on before I went to pugland, and from what I can see...it's still happening. Everyone wants to play, and it's not fair to leave the lowbies out...they deserve a full group as much as the highbies do.

On another point. Getting rid of favor runs was really stupid.

Forum: General Discussion

Hey all
So I am back to the grind of school work, starting April 30. It will only be for another 8 weeks (then I am set to graduate with my MSW), but I am taking 3 classes, all condensed so each one will require a lot more attention then other regular courses. This will most certainly affect my ability to go online and play, let a lone do other things. I will do what I can and will make every effort to keep my commitment to the static group, but I do not know how much I will be able to get on outside of this.
Worst case scenario, see you all in 8 weeks!

Pen

Forum: General Discussion

The impending darkness was dead calm, the very winds cautious of entering this place of death.

Ahsheron was the first to arrive at the darkened door to the Tomb known as the Sanguine heart. He knew no fear and shimmered with goodness, a nearly palpable aura surrounding him.

Beside and behind him stood the massive Artificer, sculpted from living wood and metal, CannedSand’s heavy repeating crossbow twitching in his hand, stubby fingers itching to flex and let fly a volley of magical metal at the undead behind the door.

The diminutive water savant, Osykle, stood nearby. His sorcerer’s robes glimmered in the fading light and the air was chilled around him while he waited stoically for the signal to enter.

Bringing up the read with a quick prayer was Devinne, concern showing plainly on her face. She had been in one of the other tombs recently and the experience still haunted her. Setting her lips grimly she nodded to Ash to open the door and proceed.

Depressing the skull on the dark wooden slab the massive plank swung inward with a groan and a squeal, beckoning the group to throw caution to the wind and enter the gaping maw. They could see the dust and the webs in the entrance, scattered bones glistening in the torchlight along the hallway. Rushing forward, Ash began smashing anything and everything that he could see, defiling the unholy tomb with his divine presence.

Slipping down the hallway they arrived at a room flooded with the slime and ooze and other noxious fluids in which were strewn the bodies of fallen warriors from long ago. To their horror, as Ash put one cautious booted foot into the water, they began to stir and shamble to their feet. Hanging flesh, accompanied by a putrid stench, the undead hobbled forward, attacking everyone indiscriminately. Flashing fists of light, the high pitched twang of bolts flying, magical swarms of ice and snow filling the air; all assailing their undead foes with the healer watching everyone carefully and praying to keep them healthy and safe from an unnatural slumber. Grimly the band fought until the twitching and flailing bodies were separated into unthreatening pieces and they pressed on.

Just as CannedSand stepped to the doorway a massive jet of poison filled the air around him.

Trap.

The massive warforged scratched his wooden head a moment, curious as to why his senses hadn’t warned him of impending danger. This didn’t bode well. Looking around carefully, he spied a control box on the side of the wall and cautiously used his tools to pry it open and disarm the weakening stream.

“Ok friends, apparently I can’t sense the danger of these devices but I can turn them off when they’ve been activated. Go carefully.” His mechanical voice was sorrowful but we were determined to press onward.

Slowly we entered the next chamber and dispatched the evil Advocates within the next room. They were no match for our combined might and healing abilities and with a shudder and a sigh Ash spoke to CannedSand.

“I’m fairly fleet of foot and vigorous. I’ll go forward and hopefully survive any traps ahead so that you can disarm them for the rest.”

With that he turned to the hallway on the right and scooted around the corner quickly as a jet of flame sputter to live behind him. The Gods of Lag had it in for him that night and rooted him to the spot. With a cry of agony his clothes burst into searing flame. His body soon followed and Ash was soon ash…and soot.

With a shout of dismay the warforged sprang forward and attempted to disarm the control panel to the flame cannon. *plink plink plink BOOOM!* The shards of the control box melted in the continuing flame.

Sadly the party turned away, disheartened, and left the tomb to perhaps return another day. Perhaps when Ahsheron’s younger brother was older they would avenge Ash and retrieve his belongings….

*DING*

Ahsheron Lanaseth - Phoenix - Level 7

Forum: Tales from the Crypts
